Derivco USA is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test to be part of our dynamic team.

As a SDET you will verify the quality of a software products through the application and optimisation of functional and basic non-functional automated testing practices and tools, reducing cycle time and improving software quality and compliance.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Review technical designs and contributes in design session to ensure product or feature testability, compliance and alignment with business requirements, dependencies and standards
  • Design and implement plans to complete automated testing suites for a product/project that aligns with the company's automation strategy and ideal automation posture
  • Develop and optimize automated functional and basic non-functional, unit, integration, end-to-end and production post deployment tests, tools and artifacts, to support the test suite and ensure adequate coverage and comprehensive, quality testing of a product
  • Define, monitor and drive automated test quality, value and coverage targets to ensure test quality and adequate coverage for the team's products
  • Facilitates and monitor code reviews and mentors/coaches junior team members to improve test automation skill, knowledge of team practices and software products.
  • Monitor and improve the level of quality and coverage of test automation in the CI/CD pipeline to prevent CI/CD issues and improve the efficiency of software testing in a team's products that aligns to company standards
  • Supports junior team members and submit finalised testing effort estimations for small / medium sized projects to enable the effective planning and prioritisation.
  • Actively contribute to a team's standards and practices in alignment with Derivco's standards to aid in improving software quality.

Technical competencies:

  • Minimum 5 to 8 years software development/test automation experience
  • Sound ability to develop and optimise tests and tools or scripts for any of the following with a skilled understanding of the other stacks: front-end, and back-end APIs, services and databases
  • Demonstrates sound skills in the design and implementation of functional and non-functional, unit, integration, end-to-end and production post-deployment automated tests to ensure software behaves as expected, meets the desired level of quality and recurring issues are resolved
  • Ability to analyse and design test scenarios, inclusive of seed data strategies, to maintain the level of quality and value of the automated test suite.
  • Skilled in the creation, configuration and maintenance of fully automated CI/CD pipelines (including artefacts) that execute all the test suites and proficient in the following technologies: Microsoft Azure DevOps, C#, SQL.
