Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Analyst to join our finance team in the fast-paced tech industry. As a Financial Analyst, your primary focus will be on budgeting, financial analysis, cost allocation, finance business partnering, and financial modelling. You will be instrumental in providing accurate and insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making and drive business growth. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a data-driven approach, with a deep understanding of financial planning and analysis within the tech sector. 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the budgeting process by collaborating with department heads to develop accurate and achievable annual operating plans and financial targets. 
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend identification, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis, to provide proactive and actionable insights for business leaders. 
  • Perform cost allocation analyses to identify areas of cost optimisation and efficiency improvements across the organisation. 
  • Act as the custodian and interpreter of financial data, translating complex financial information into clear, impactful narratives for non-financial stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with business units to develop and maintain advanced financial models that support forecasting, investment analysis, and decision-making under various market conditions. 
  • Establish and maintain effective finance business partnering relationships with cross-functional teams, offering financial guidance and support for their strategic initiatives. 
  • Develop and maintain accurate and timely financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for management, highlighting KPIs, key performance indicators, and areas of concern tied directly to company goals. 
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data and assisting in preparing financial statements and management reports. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline financial planning and reporting processes, leveraging data analytics, automation, and technology where possible. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape to provide relevant insights, including predictive analytics or AI-driven insights as applicable. 
  • Assist in ad-hoc financial analysis projects and support cross-functional teams on high-priority initiatives and project-based financial management. 

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within the tech industry. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge of business intelligence tools and ETL capabilities, with a strong emphasis on data visualisation (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and automation tools. 
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling techniques and tools with expertise in Microsoft Excel. 
  • Strong proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and variance analysis. 
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including non-financial teams, with strong communication skills to present complex financial concepts clearly. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines. 

Desirable Skills and Qualifications: 

  • CFA/CA/ACCA/CIMA qualified. 
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. 
  • Familiarity with cloud-based financial systems and advanced FP&A tools such as Cognos TM1, MagicOrange, or similar. 
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement, automation, and driving efficiency. 
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking to contribute to business growth and profitability. 
  • Experience in project-based financial management, including project ROI and performance tracking, to support cross-functional project initiatives.
