Job Description

Join Derivco as a Financial Accountant and be part of our dynamic team!

We're looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in our Richmond office. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial records, reports, and processes as well as executing the technical portfolio plan in relation to financial management, reporting, and cash and cost management activities for the business.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Prepare and Analyse financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure an effective budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with other departments to gather necessary data and assumptions.
  • Perform financial analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports ensuring timely and accurate submission.
  • Assist with compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Assist with developing organizational processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen the business units’ internal controls.
  • Review cash flow management and maintain cash flow projections, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Lead cost management initiatives, providing insights on expenses and cost drivers.
  • Prepare cost reports and variance analysis, collaborating with other departments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the Finance Assistant with performing daily accounting functions relating to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and other General ledger accounts.
  • Manage the payroll process for the organisation, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions. 
  • Develop and executing a "technical" financial accounting services strategy and aligns with other business unit portfolio plans.
  • To ensure improvement and stakeholder adoption of the processes, measures. tools, technology and standards of a financial account service portfolio.
  • Sharing of the latest industry knowledge and relevant internal business practices across the organisation. 
  • Collaborate with other departments and subsidiaries to improve financial performance and efficiencies.
  • Alignment of service delivery to stakeholder requirements.

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience Required

  • 6 to 8 years relevant work experience.
  • Relevant 3-year degree/diploma - Desirable.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
